The Newsroom · Since 2019

We watch every ball so your group chat doesn't have to

SportzCrazy is a sports newsroom built in New Delhi for people who argue about the game at 2 AM. Eleven full-time journalists, a live-data desk that never closes, and a fan community 340,000 strong.

What SportzCrazy Is

We are an independent sports news desk covering cricket, football, Formula 1, tennis, kabaddi, basketball and esports — India first, globally aware. Every day we publish match reports, tactical analysis, live scoreboards, three podcasts and a forum where 340,000 fans do the arguing for us.

The pitch is simple. Indian sports coverage spent a decade split between wire copy nobody edited and hot takes nobody checked. We wanted a third thing: reporting fast enough to matter during the session, opinionated enough to be worth reading afterwards, and sourced well enough that we can defend every line of it.

So the newsroom runs on three rules. Be at the ground when it matters. Show the numbers you used. Print the correction bigger than the mistake.

The Newsroom Story

Est. 2019
Origin

It started as a live-blog nobody asked for

In September 2019, three of us live-blogged a Ranji Trophy quarter-final from a Rajkot press box because no outlet had sent anyone. Four thousand people read it. By the World Cup semi-final the following summer the same blog carried 190,000 readers in a single afternoon and the servers fell over twice.

Catalyst Web Trendz backed the desk in 2020, we hired our first two full-time reporters in 2021, and the live-data team came in 2022 — the year we stopped buying scoreboards and started verifying our own. Podcasts followed in 2023, the forum in 2024, and the video desk last year.

Published Updated quarterly
2019 — 2020

One press box, one laptop, one live blog

Domestic cricket coverage nobody else was doing. First 100,000-reader day arrives in July 2020.

2021 — 2022

Football, F1 and a data desk of our own

ISL accreditation in 2021. In 2022 we build the dual-feed scoreboard that still runs the match centre today.

2023 — 2024

The Third Umpire, then the forum

Three podcasts launch. The community boards open in March 2024 and cross 100,000 members in eleven weeks.

2025 — 2026

Video desk, syndication, 4.2 million a month

Daily video, two syndication partners, and a standards editor hired specifically to say no to us.
